Elephants

My favorite animal is the elephant, i like them because they are a very noble but also very imposing animals and majestic that command a lot of respect, besides being very intelligent, I also like them for their meaning, since they are a symbol of wisdom, good luck (this is why I always carry an elephant symbol with me), loyalty, strength and fidelity.

The elephant is a herbivorous animal. Its diet is made up of bark and leaves of both trees and shrubs, herbs and fruits. This is grouped in herds with a matriarchal organization, Elephants usually always live around a water source.

Today there are two genera, the African elephant and the Asian elephant, they are the largest land animals in the world. Its trunk is boneless and it uses it to collect food, make sounds and identify smells On the other hand, their ears not only serve to detect the sounds of the environment but also to regulate their body temperature, they also have very large and strong ivory tusks that can weigh up to 120 kg.

The greatest threat to this species is humans, who continue to destroy their natural habitat or hunt it for the ivory trade and other purposes. And despite the action of activists and animal lovers, much remains to be done in regard to their protection. Some 25,000 elephants are illegally killed each year to obtain ivory for their tusks. The number of specimens victim of poaching grew so much that in recent years that in 2010 it exceeded the reproductive rate of the species. If this trend is not changed, by 2050 the African elephant will be extinct.

My opinions

 What is your opinion about inmigration?

I completely agree with that, because in my opinion the people have the right to seek a better life in another country to make their lives working honestly and contribute to the economy of the country to which they immigrated, in fact I am an immigrant in chile and I think the best thing I could do was come to this country.

what is your opinion about legalization of abortion in the 3 cases?

I disagree with the 3 cases but i completely agree with abortion,  I think that women have the right to decide about our body without the need for our integrity to be violated, motherhood has to be desired, not imposed.

what is your opinion about buying instead of adopting pets?

i don´t know, I think that as long as the pet receives love and is respected i have no problem because the animals they sell can also have them under bad conditions and they may be being mistreated by the people who sell them.

what is your opinion about legalizing guns?

i disagree with legalization of guns, in my opinion I do not think it is safe, especially for a home with children, accidents could occur and it promotes more violence even though it is in self-defense, threatens the life of the person who carries it so many of those around him.

 Hi everyone, my name is Ana Sofia Benavides but plis just call me Sofia, I have 19 years old, I’m from Colombia from a small town called popayan, I arrived in Chile 7 years ago and I love soo much this country, actually i study veterinary in universidad de Chile, i live with my mom and her husband in a little apartment in Ñuñoa, I do not have any pets at the moment since my kitten Teo and my beautiful dog Nica died years ago. I like read and sleep a lot, my favorite  band is one direction and as soloists Zayn and Harry Styles, my favorite series of all life is the vampire diaries I’m team Damon obviously.

About my personality I am a kind person although it may seem mean at first, I consider that I have character but at the same time I am a little shy and there is much more but I guess you will have to find out.
